A week with Alice in Belgium!

Hey everyone!

My friend Alice came to visit me last week, and here are some pictures I'd like to share with you. Make sure to go check out her blog alicered.co.uk and her YouTube-channel youtube.co.uk/c/alicered for her view on the trip. (She's probs still editing her two bazillion pictures / video clips, so give her some time!)

We went to an installation called "Reading Between The Lines" by architect duo Gijs Van Vaerenbergh. You can find this see-through church in the middle of the fields in Borgloon, which is 10 minutes from where I live. This place was recently called the most beautiful place in Belgium by The Guardian. A good first-day activity, as Alice was still quite jetlagged (give her a break, it was an early morning flight!) We then went for ice cream at one of the best places around.

On Tuesday we went to C-Mine in Genk, an old cole mine turned museum/cultural centre/creative space. After that we went to Hasselt to go and explore the shops we would go to later that week, then finished the day with a Belgian Waffle - with chocolate and ice cream, of course!

On this day we went exploring in Antwerp! We met up with a friend of mine, then walked passed the cathedral, went to the MAS museum and the new porthouse, and extension designed by Zaha Hadid architects.

On Thursday we went to Brussels, took it a bit slower than in Antwerp as I'm not the best tour guide for guiding people around in Brussels. We really just walked around, took some pictures and went back home. Of course we had some ice cream before we went!

Final day was a shopping day in Hasselt - which explains why this is the only picture I have of that day. Our trip was successful and we both picked up some bits - I'm sure you'll see us both post a haul in the near future!

Hope she had a good time over here. I guided her around to the best of my abilities. Please do go check out her pictures and vlogs when she posts them!

Lots of love,
