Current Skin Care Routine

Hi peeps!

I wanted to share my current skin care routine with you, as I don't seem to do that often. You might think "well it never really changes, now does it?" and that is ab-so-lute-ly true. I don't add or change products in my routine all too often, just because when something works for me, I just stick to it.

These products are the ones that really work for my skin at this moment. Some you'll have seen a thousand times already, some are recent additions.

At the start of the day, I don't really do too much to my skin. I've heard that it's not necessary to wash your skin before applying products, as it can dry out your skin a lot if you wash it with a cleanser twice a day. Just a rinse with clear water is all you need before going in with products. That being said: I really only use 4 products to start my day. I have this gel called Rozex, which is something I had prescribed to me to keep my acne at bay. I apply this before anything else, and I've been using it for the past 1,5 years and I must say it's working fine for me! I'm not sure if there's - or what's - the equivalent for it in England, as I'm not good with ingredients, so I can't really give you the deets on that.

Then I apply my eye cream, and for the longest time I've been using the Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado. I just like this one so much, it's simple, hyrdrating, not too heavy, not too sheer. Just about right. The little pot lasts me absolutely ages, too.

I'm going back and forth between moisturisers. I often use the Kiehl's Skin Rescuer, but at this moment I'm using the clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions All Over Clearing Treatment again. I just can't say anything wrong about it; it works so well with my oily skin, it's not heavy at all but moisturising enough for during the day.

I recently started adding in a facial oil into my moisturiser. I've been doing this for years at night time (more about that later) so I thought it was time for me to try the daytime version of it, too. I just add a few drops of the Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate and mix it together with a sqeeze of the moisturiser, so it spreads out a bit better. It just gives that bit of extra moisture and plumps up my skin, making it look healthier. So far so good, I'm getting on with it quite well!

To take off my makeup, I'm always using the Garnier Micellar Water. (Bioderma is quite overrated. Unless you really suffer from sensitive eyes and you take off your eye makeup with it, this is just as good for far less money.) I have a bottle of the regular one and another of the waterproof one (which contails an oil). Love them both, and I think I'll try a few others out next (for sensitive skin, maybe that suits me even better!)

Then to actually cleanse my face I've started using the Ren Clearcalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser (lots of CL's!), which as the name suggests is a clay cleanser - no foam for me anymore! Foaming cleanser can really dry out your skin, which you want for oily skin, in a way, but this one does the job just as good without making my skin more sensitive. I love this one so much, it's so gentle and smooth, can't get enough of the stuff.

To get that extra bit of makeup out of the pores, I'm currently using the The Body Shop Seaweed Oil-Balancing Toner. Either this or the Tea-Tree toner has been a staple in my routine for a long time. It just takes away the excess oils so well and it's also very affordable.

Onto moisturisers. As an eye cream I've been using the Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Eye Treatment for so long I can't remember when I started using it. It prevents wrinkles - yes, I have to worry about that already! - and really plumps up the area during the night. I could probably do with a different eye cream, though, as this one is super expensive!

Last step is to do the same mixing-thing as in the morning with the two remaining products. I'm so hooked on the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel to finish my cleansing routine with, and I always mix in a few drops of the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate.  I can really tell the difference between my skin before I was using it and now that I'm using it. It just does its magic overnight and makes my skin so happy.
