Yet Another Beauty Haul

Another beauty haul? Oh my!

I can't seem to control myself lately, but so many new products are releasing and I need to try them all. Just to make sure I can review them for you guys, obviously.

Let's start with the makeup bits, as that's usually the part I enjoy the most myself! There's a whole lot of makeup, so please don't judge...

Benefit The POREfessional Pearl Primer

I haven't used POREfessional in a while, but I remember really liking it for my oily skin. I tried it out a handful of times now and I really like it. It doesn't feel like it's too matte, whereas the other one had potential to do so. I think I actually prefer this one over the original!

Nars Soft Matte concealer - Vanilla

I've used this one a couple of times, alongside the Benefit Boiing Industrial Strength concealer, and I think they are really similar in consistency and application, although the Nars one is just a bit more matte. The shade 1 of the Benefit one is also very similar to Vanilla, but the latter is a tiny bit more pink toned than Boiing. I love this concealer a lot, especially on my blemishes, and it has great coverage and a staying power like nothing else! Really understand the hype around this product now.

NYX Away We Glow liquid highlighter - 04 Crystal Glare

As I was awaiting my order of the Mary-Dew and Bonnie-Dew Manizers, I couldn't help picking up this similar product from Nyx. They come in six shades, of which Crystal Glare is the most natural looking one, in my opinion. I love the product itself, as it gives that wet glow on the cheek, but something is just so wrong with the doe-foot applicator. It's wider than the opening in the tube, so you really have to pull it out and push it back in. I'm not sure how long this applicator is going to last that way, plus it's so annoying, as you can't really be careful pulling it out... Little pet peeve, but overall a really good product.

TheBalm Mary-Dew Manizer & Bonnie-Dew Manizer

I was so excited to try these ones out, especially the Bonnie one, as that shade is new in the collection and I didn't get the chance to swatch the powder version, so I ended up going for the "cheaper" one to try out the shade. I must say Bonnie-Dew is almost as dark as Betty-Lou Manizer, the powder bronzer/highlighter. I'm really curious if the powder is just as dark, I thought I would get away with it more easily. Maybe in summer it will work for me, it's nice as an eyeshadow but creases on me really fast (even if I'm wearing an eyeshadow primer!), and mixed in with Mary-Dew it's quite alright. I still need to experiment with it to find the right way for me to use it. Mary-Dew is really nice though, it's very similar to the powder Mary-Lou Manizer, and is best worn in combination with the powder highlighter. The applicator is so much better than the NYX one, luckily, but I find them to be quite hard to apply. They dry down really fast, so you have to be super quick. I've tried dotting it onto my cheeks and blending it out with a spunge, but for some reason it won't blend. I find it works best for me if I apply a stroke onto the area where I want it, that blend it out super quickly with a brush. It still needs some help to blend out at the edges, but I find that if I apply the powder Mary-Lou on top, it's fixed. Bit of an experience with these, but I will definitely report back on them.

Dior Nude Air Luminizer Glow Addict - 002 Holo Gold

I picked up the very first highlighter of this collection back when they released it as a limited edition highlighter two years ago (review here. Warning: it's an old post and my English might not have been as good as it is after spending 10 months in the UK!). Since then they brought out a permanent collection of a couple of shades, I believe including the one that was initially limited edition. For this spring they have released two highlighters, not as pretty looking as the Glowing Gardens one from Spring '16, but still really beautiful, and also holographic, as they call it. Holo Gold is a golden toned highlighter with a pink shift to it. Don't be fooled by the name, as it leans more peachy pink than gold. I didn't intend to buy yet another highlighter, as my collection is overflowing, but swatching this immediately sold me. It's so very 2018 and I'm really to pump up my highlighter game now! The quality is of course just as amazing as the one I already own and I can honestly say it's one of the most pigmented, wet-looking highlighters I own.

Esquido Lashes - Little Black Lash* + Companion eyelash glue*

I received this as a PR sample, and I must admit I don't wear lashes very often. It was nice to be testing these out though. I did a full review on them on my blog, but in a nutshell: I'm not converted to lashes now, but they sure are very natural looking, right up my street.
I've got a giveaway going on over on my instagram, if you want to check that out! You have 9 days left to enter ;-)

Benefit BAD gal BANG! mascara

I never really got on with They're Real or Roller Lash, so I'm not sure why I felt the need to try this one out as well. It's mostly the applicators that I didn't get on with, as they are plastic and were so pointy and sharp, I could never apply my mascara without poking my eye! Luckily, this one doesn't do that, as the applicator is a lot more flexible. I'm not completely sold yet, but I get on with it quite alright. The plastic brush just needs to grow on me a little longer.

Maybelline Total Temptation mascara

It's been a while since I've used a Maybelline mascara anymore, and it took this new release a while to get to Belgium, but I've finally been able to get one and try it for myself. The brush looks like something I would really enjoy, but it's borderline too plastic for me. I can just about make it work without poking my eye. I'd heard great things about this one, so I wanted to try it out anyways. I've only used it a handful of times, but so far I'm really impressed with it! Although it has a super strong scent (but a good one, nonetheless, it smells quite fruity), it gives me great volume and seems to keep a curl. Me likey!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss - Moon Jelly

I've noticed that the hype is real with the re-birth of the lipgloss lately, so I figured I needed to get on that right away. I really had no idea where to start so I went all the way with this "unicorn" like clear gloss, which has tiny little specks of blue, purple and pink glitter in. I haven't tried to layer it on top of a lipstick yet, but from the swatch you can see how beautiful it is! I have no clue what to combine this with, so any tips are welcome. I'll probably keep this for the festival-vibes in summer.

Two more products that I only added to the collection on Wednesday (after all the pics for this post were already taken, oops!) and are probably my two favourites out of this entire blog post...

Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eye Palette - 740 Scandalust

So I've seen many blog posts and pictures and reviews on this palette already, and in every photo I find that the shades look different. I had sort of hoped the red would be more of a warm, true red, rather than a cranberry pinky red. Other than that, I'm so happy with this finally sitting in my collection! The quality of the shadows are just as good as I remember them from my The Dreamer palette, which I bought a few years ago. The shimmers are so buttery soft and very pigmented, the mattes are great quality and definitely buildable. There's two subtle shimmers in this palette, two metallic shimmers and three mattes. The only downside to the shadow selection is that the second one from the left - and the only slightly pale shade in the palette - translates a lot darker on the lid than it looks in the pan. That way there really isn't a pale matte to set down my eyeshadow base with, and the look will always become more of a dark, smokey one. I'm excited to be playing around with it though!

Kat Von D Studded Kiss Crème Lipstick - Bow 'n' Arrow

I've loved the liquid lipstick version of this shade for a whole while now, and I thought: as soon as that's gone, I will need a new one. The thing is though: I don't wear a lot of liquid lipsticks (anymore), and although this one is great in quality, it's quite drying and I'm not really used to that anymore. I thought I'd check out if they have a lipstick in the same shade, and they do! Hooray! It is such a beautiful shade, and it's still matte, too, so it looks 99% the same as the liquid lipstick. Of course it feels a bit heavier on the lips, but I'm used to that feeling now anyways, so I'm all about this new lipstick. I feel like my lipstick drawer is perfectly full now, so I should stop buying more lipsticks...

Onto skincare now, which I thought I'd include in my haul posts too, because I always forget that's a part of beauty as well! ;-)

Kiehl's Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrare

I've been on a bit of a Kiehl's haul recently, and the first thing I really wanted to pick up was this product. I've seen this everywhere, as they did a big campaign with the semi-big youtubers and bloggers because of their reformulation if the concentrate. I never tried it before, so I can't really compare it to the old formula, and I kind of have to figure out how to use it. I really hope I will get on with this, because this baby was pricey as hell! Most things from Kiehl's I really like, so let's pray to the gods.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream

Many a blogger love the Ultra Facial Cream, but since I have more of an oily skin, I get on much better with the gel one. I picked this up again a few months ago, after neglecting it for well over a year, and I had forgotten how much I actually like it. I do tend to go through it quite quickly, although it's 50ml and I only need a little bit every time I use it. I've loved using it again, so this is a repurchase after rekindling my love with it.

Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser

I love myself a good clay cleanser, and for well over a year I've been using the Ren ClearCalm Clarifying Clay Cleanser, but I just wanted to try out a new one for a change. I rarely change up my skincare routine and I figured I just had to step away from the old routine for a bit, see if there's any other products that will do the job. I'm really hoping this will work for me, but by the looks of it, I bet I really will.

And finally a few more "random" bits to end this post.

Bumble & Bumble Repair Blow Dry

I have tried this out around last year in a mini-size, and it lasted me well over a few months. I was looking out for some new hair products, so I just remembered this and decided to repurchase. I'm nearly finished with their hairdresser's oil, and so happy to go back to this one, as I enjoyed this just a little more than the oil.

Ouai Matte Pomade

I heard so many things about this product and honestly, I kind of regret getting it now. It feels quite waxy and I'm not sure if it was the best idea for my already greasy hair. I will try to make it work whenever I've curled my heard and I want to manipulate the ends a little bit. I'm hoping I can stretch the shelf life of this product to a very long time, as I don't know if I will use this all that much. If any of you have recommendations for Ouai products, let me know! I really want to try some of them, but don't really know where to start (so I started with this one, which was probably a mistake...).

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Lip Repair Balm

I was hoping for this to be the same as the one I already own from the Eight Hour range, but I guess that one is really just an in-flight exclusive. I always get one when I'm on a plane to Manchester, and it smells like oranges! It's a lot softer in consistency as this one, and it's such a shame the one I just picked up is a little stiffer. It also has a cooling effect on the lips; I think it has some minty ingredient in there. It does have the same efficiency, as it keeps my lips so soft and hydrated, and it will be a good replacement for when I run out of the other one.

Lots of love,
