May Favourites

Hey peeps!

Time for another favourites post. Djeez, it feels like I'm typing these ones up all the bloody time.
But hey, I've gathered a few bits I've been loving and using a lot this month, so here we go.

Zoeva Nude Spectrum blush palette

On days where I don't feel like going for that rosy flush on the cheeks, but more for a bronzed up look, this palette is the one I reach for. It's fairly new to me which is probably why I find it such an exciting one. The only pet peeve I have with this is that the packaging is rubberised, kind of like the Nars products but then on cardboard packaging, and because it's black, that means it gets really grubby really fast, and it's so hard to wipe it off as well. Other than that, the shades inside are amazing and they are super pigmented. Highly recommend.

Nars Soft Matte Complete concealer - Light 2 Vanilla

Everyone and their mum must have tried this concealer by now, and 99% of the people I've seen talking about this, loves it too. It's got great coverage and the particular shade is great for hiding my blemishes. It stays on like nothing else, and the packaging is so cute and simple. Can't recommend this one enough.

Guerlain Rouge G lipstick - n°02 + Exotic Safari case

I've seen these release a few months ago and I was so intrigued by the different packagings. How much of a sucker for packaging am I??? It made me really want to try a Guerlain lipstick, something I've never tried before. Immediately, my eyes were drawn to the shade N°02, which is basically my everyday nude all over again. When I tried it on, I thought it looked very similar (although ever so slightly more pink toned) to the Mac x Fleur De Force collaboration, which was a stunning cremesheen nude that I've been wearing loads recently, and I'm very aware will run out probably after summer and I can never get again. This would be a good dupe for it - although not the most affordable option, I know. However, I'm so chuffed with this pricey little number, if only it was to make my pictures look good. Oh, and the formula is very nice to wear, it's a very pigmented creme finish.

The downside to this lipstick? I love the look of the packaging, but I absolutely hate how the idea was executed. I believe they could have made it 10x better. When you take the lid off the lipstick, there's a mirror hidden underneath that beautiful piece of packaging, but there's nothing to keep it closed anymore: th bit that keeps it shut is on the lipstick holder itself. That way, the mirror will always open whenever you go and use the lipstick. I love the idea of having a mirror inside - although it's almost too small to see anything, I think it's lovely for on the go - but I'm convinced they could have found a way to have a magnetised closing, so you could push it open in some kind of way when you need it.  That way you could even use the mirror without having to take the lid off the lipstick. The closing should have been on the lid, not on the lipstick itself. A bit annoying...

YSL Black Opium Floral Shock perfume

If you want the full details on this perfume, you can head over to my Perfume Collection post I did earlier this month. I just wanted to quickly mention this one again today, as it's the one I've been reaching for the most recently. It's floral, but also sweet, but also a bit darker in notes as well. Go and have a smell when you can, it's such a unique one.

Mulberry Bayswater Camel Deep Embossed Croc Print

I've always had a weak spot for designer handbags, and I've been collecting Michael Kors and Ted Baker bags for years now. I've always wanted to invest in a proper designer bag though, and last month, the opportunity presented itself when I went to the Outlet Shopping in Roermond (NL). I never thought my first designer bag would be a Mulberry, because I have always wanted a Givenchy Antigona. Oh, well. Next one on the list will still be that one.

Now, for the bag: my gosh is this a beautiful bag! I totally fell in love with it the minute I saw it. It's big enough to take as a work bag, it's small enough to wear with any outfit, and I am obsessed with the embossed print. The colour really goes with anything I would ever wear, so I felt like I could justify the price. It was around €500 off the RRP, so I saved myself a good amount of money there. Don't get me wrong, this is the most I've ever spent on a bag, and I will protect it with my life, but I would have never made such an "impulse" purchase if it was full price. I thought about it long and hard in the store and my mum chipped in on the payment (she is the sweetest <3), which helped me decide as well.

I am in absolute heaven with this one and feel like this bag will forever be with me, as it really goes with any age as well, and it's a classic model that will stay in the collection for such a long time.

I don't think you can get this particular print anymore, as they usually only discount products that they don't make anymore or are not in the permanent collection, but I hope they bring it back someday, even if it's in a different colour. It's such a gorgeous print, I can't imagine it not being made anymore.

So chuffed with my bargain. I will cherish this bag forever.

Lots of love,
