Products I love with packaging I hate

Hey everyone!

So, I've been toying with the idea of making this post for a while. Then I saw KathleenLights do it not too long ago on YouTube, and I thought, well why the hell not then.

I'm going to talk about some products that I really love, but just wish it would come in different packaging... (This post will be full of first-world problem pet peeves, sorry!)

This is not to take down any of the brands, because I actually really love all of these brands! I just think they could improve on the packaging for these particular products...

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel/Lotion (125ml)

I've been using this product for years and years, and I used to always buy the 50ml one, which comes in a tube, and I absolutely love that. I'm just always so amazed why the 125ml one comes in a bottle with a pump that never works properly, and is so difficult to get out the last bits? I don't know why they just made a bigger tube to put this in. I always get the bigger one though, just because it works out better for the price. But I just HOPE they will someday repackage it into a bigger tube, instead of the pump...

Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo

Don't get me wrong, this packaging looks amazing, sleek, cool with the purple reflect on it and everything. But for some reason though, the part where you open it, is just so difficult for me to use! It's like a sunk-in bit, which most packaging has, but it's so rounded and not even a tiny bit where you can use your nails to click it open (I'm not sure how to explain it but I guess most of you will get what I mean). I need to put a lot of pressure with my fingers to be able to open this product. Is it just me that struggles with this? I'm curious!

Urban Decay x Alice Through The Looking Glass palette

I bet it's been a while since you've seen this palette on anyone's blog or channel! I still keep it around, because it holds some really unique shades in there. I got it for that same reason. But honestly, it takes up so much space in my drawers, and only one question comes to mind: why on earth did it need to be so bulky??? They could have done with about half the cardboard, and that butterfly on top is no use to anyone. I wished the palette itself that slides out of the box, would have its own lid or something, so that I could only keep that and get rid of the bulky packaging around it. It would take up about half the space that it does right now. And who ever opens up the top bit to see the hidden butterfly anyways? I think they could have been a bit more creative with this one, so that it would still look really magical, without it being so bulky.

Rimmel Stay Matte powder

I've mentioned many-a-time that this is my number one, holy-grail powder. The only pet peeve I have with this is that the lid comes off completely, and breaks really easily (read: every damn time). I see that they are able to do it right with the Insta Fix & Matte powder so I'm only hoping they will put the Stay Matte powders in the same packaging as a logical next step.

Nyx Away We Glow liquid highlighter

It's so handy that it comes in a tube, and it has a doe-foot applicator. But something I can't understand is: why is the applicator bigger than the hole in the tube? It's practically impossible to get it out without any accidents. It's too wide for the tube and it seriously needs to be reconsidered. Just a regular doe-foot will do, thank you very much. That would make this product near to perfect.

Urban Decay The Velvetizer loose powder

This powder is so very unique, and I love using it from time to time. I love how the lid screws on and I love that the sifter is the UD logo. The only thing that bothers me is how bulky it is. That's why I never tend to buy loose powders, as they are always quite big in packaging. I would like to store it in my muji drawers, but then the drawers can't shut, as the pot is just too high for it. I don't want to store it on its side, because then a lot of powder would come out inside and it would be so messy when I open it. I think they could have made this a tiny bit flatter, and even less wide by making it in a thinner plastic jar. It almost feels like a glass jar now, and all the material around the actual top that you see, is completely see-through and therefore unnecessary. I'm pretty sure the bottom is just as thick, so it might as well have fitted into my drawers after all, if they didn't make it so thick and bulky for no reason.

Are there any other products that you think have annoying pakckaging, but you use them anyways because you like the product inside so much? Let me know in the comments!

Lots of love,
