It's been a while since I've seen this kind of post around, but I wanted to show you what kind of beauty things I carry around on a daily basis. I think these are the essentials no one really talks about, but a lot of them definitely deserve a shoutout.

Neutrogena lip balm SPF 20

I struggle to find really good lip balms that really deeply moisturise my lips, without just leaving a film. I need the nourishment rather than the effect of the glossiness. At home I use a different one, but in my bag I always carry around this stick. When I need something extra underneath my lipstick, or when I'm not wearing much on my lips and they feel irritated (especially in winter), this one is my saviour.

l'Occitane Shea Butter hand cream (mini)

I will always have a hand cream with me. Unlike the rest of my skin, my hands tend to feel dry quite easily. I wash my hands with a basic soap, and 5 minutes after I feel like I need to moisturise my hands. It's always nice to find a mini tube of hand cream so it doesn't take up too much space in my bag. This can vary from Rituals to l'Occitane to any other hand cream, really. At this point I have a l'Occitane one in my bag, and I can actually highly recommend this brand for it's hand creams. They also do them in a lot of different sizes, and most of them I really like the scent of.

Rituals The Ritual Of Dao - deodorant (mini)

If you've been a long-time reader of my blog, you will know I absolutely love the Rituals deodorants. I love that they come in a mini version as well, so I can always fit one in my bag. Especially in Spring and Summer, this is an essential for me. I hate being smelly and as soon as I think I might have a bit of sweat under my arms, I will quickly freshen up with this one. Highly recommend checking them out, they smell lovely and don't feel irritating on my skin.

Vitry glass nail file

For some reason, my nails always bug me. They just always grow in a weird way and I cannot be without a nail file in my bag. I could never wear my nails long, I just hate it! That's why I always carry this thing around. It used to be a standars, long nail file but I remember having it on my bed one day, then I forgot it was there and I sat on it. It broke into two, and now I just keep this half in my bag. It fits right into the little pouch I have in there, so it's perfect! ;-)

Tanya Burr mirror

Obviously we all need a mirror somewhere in our bags, just to check if there's no lipstick on our teeth, or we have to see if our eyeshadow/eyeliner is still intact. I got this Tanya Burr one in a advent calendar one day and I've kept it in my bag ever since. It's not too big, which is why I love keeping it in the side pocket of my bag.


Mac x FleurDeForce lipstick

The one actual makeup item that will always come with me, is the lipstick I wear on the daily. Of course this changes everyday, but the one I'm currently wearing a lot is the Mac x FleurDeForce collaboration. I'll be so sad when this is gone! Most of the times I'll carry a nude shade with me, and one that's easy to apply. I usually don't bother bringing a liquid lipstick with me, but always go for a lip bullet.

YSL Black Opium Floral Shock perfume (sample)

I don't always keep a perfume in my bag, but I'll usually take it with me when I'm going out in the evening. I sometimes like to go freshen up somewhere halfway through the evening, and if I remember, I will sprits some perfume on me. I'll make sure I wear a perfume that has similar notes so the scents don't clash, and I even have the full size of this particular one so I will start the evening with the same perfume. When I go and buy something in store, I always ask for perfume samples like this one, and if they have one in I really like. that way I can always take my perfume with me, for going out or traveling, and never have to carry around the full size bottle.

Finally, this is another item I don't usually carry around, but the one item I will always bring with me when I know in advance that I'm going to have a long day and might want to top up my foundation somehwere along the line. This one gives that little bit of coverage, but at the same time will mattify where I've gone a bit oily. I love this particular powder foundation a lot, and I love that it comes with a sponge, but usually I'll still take a brush with me to apply it. It's just good to know that there's a sponge for the days where I've got limited space in my bag.
