Birthday Makeup Menu
10:00
Hey everyone!
Last weekend I celebrated my birthday, because on Monday I turned 25. Of course, a makeup menu is standard for me to share after that day.
Not that it's anything spectacular or anything, but I just tend to grab for my favourite kind of shades on my b-day and I spend a little bit more time than usual on my look.
I wore the first one on Sunday when I went for dinner with my family, and the second on my actual birthday, as I strolled down town for some Christmas shopping.

Quick mention: my base routine is sort of always the same. I'm using a mixture of different foundations, the l'Oréal True Match concealer, the Becca Hydra-Mist loose setting powder, the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow contour shade, the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous multi-colour powder in Medium, the Chanel Jardin De Chanel blush, the Benefit Goof Proof brow pencil, Anastasia Beverly Hills clear brow gel, and lastly the Nyx Matte Finish Setting Spray.
LOOK 1

For the first look I tried to bring the colours from my dress, to my eyes. I wore this dress last year on my b-day as well now that I think of it, and I actually did a blog post on my makeup look back then as well! (Click here to read it.) I used different products but did a very similar look with them...
I wanted to play around with my new Zoeva Café eyeshadow palette, so that's what I did. I put the creamy matte shade Microfoam all over the lid to set my Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base, took the lighter pink matte Nuanced History and Tasting Note, the mauvey matte, into the crease and along the lower lash line. On the lid I went in with the cranberry shimmer shade Micro Roasting, in the inner corners with the pink shimmer Distinct Experience. Then for the touch of green in the outer corners I took Shine Bright, the khaki shimmer shade.
I took my Chanel Stylo Yeux waterproof eye pencil in 857 Legendary Green (which I stupidly forgot to include in the picture!) applied it on the upper lash line and blended it out with a smudger eyeshadow brush. For fluttery lashes I applied a few coats of the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara.
Because of the pink tones in the eye look, I wanted to use a pinky highlighter as well, so I dug out my Bobbi Brown Pink Glow highlighter.
On the lips I went for the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Vicious, which is limited edition to the Manic Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Set for Christmas. It's a gorgeous matte mauvey pink and suited this look perfectly, in my opinion.

LOOK 2

For the second look, I went in with the Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base again, and set it down with Tempera from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam palette. It's a shimmery pale shade, as this palette is really lacking a base-setting-shade, imo! I took it all the way up to the brow bone though, so that part would already be highlighted.
Then I dipped into all the matte orange and brown shades, building them up in the crease. First Orange Soda, then Burnt Orange, then Sienna & Rustic. Also on the lahs line I built up the colours in that order. On the mobile lid I went in with Glistening, the shimmery pale golden shade in the palette. To define the upper lash line a little more, because I thought it looked a bit pale with just the shimmer on the entire lid, I took Cyprus Umber on an angled eyeliner brush. A coat of the YSL The Shock waterproof mascara, et voilà!
To stick with the warm and golden shades, I applied the Chanel Le Lion De Chanel illuminating powder on the cheekbones and the bridge of the nose.
On the lips I picked up two Smashbox Be Legendary lipsticks I haven't worn in ages! The matte shade in Off Script has a red-brown undertone, which suits this look so well, and to give it a bit more of a juicy look I topped it off with the cream lipstick in Cognac.

Lots of love,
