3 looks with Zoeva Café eyeshadow palette

10:00

Hey peeps!

Today I'm sharing with you a few looks that I created using the Zoeva Café palette. This is not a new release whatsoever, but the palette is quite new to me personally and I only got to play with it in the most recent weeks. Let's see what I've come up with, shall we?

LOOK 1

After priming my eyelids, I set down my base with the shade Microfoam to make sure all the other shades would blend well on top of it. Then to start building up the transition shade I went in with Nuanced History in the crease and underneath the lower lash line. This shade will make a great blending shade afterwards as well, to go back in with in between steps and make sure no harsh edges are visible.

Then to define the crease and lower lash line a bit I applied Tasting Note, with the same fluffy blending brush that I used earlier. I didn't want it to be a clean cut look, but more of a soft hazy mauve look, neutral and wearable for everyday, so I didn't went too far with the darker shades, but rather blended them out really well. To give it a little bit of a metallic-ness, I applied Micro Roasting on the mobile lid. Afterwards I went back into my steps with the blending shades to clean up any edges.

To finish off the look I applied Distinct Experience on the inner corners. This is sort of the only highlight shade in the palette, but i do think it goes well with the shades I've used for this look.

A good coat of mascara and a soft application if the YSL Rouge Pur Couture lipstick in 70 and this look is complete.

LOOK 2

After priming my eyelids, I set down my base with the shade Microfoam and Nuanced History. Then to build up the pigment I'm going in with Tasting Note in the crease. Because I want to go for a dark spotlight kind of smokey look, I really want to make sure I build up every shade so that the dark shades blend well afterwards.

For the spotlight look I take a precise, pointed crease brush and make sure I focus on the inner and outer corner with the dark shades, staying away from the middle part of the eyelid. I go in with Cup Of Joy in these areas, connecting the inner and outer corner slightly in the crease.

For that light pop of shimmer in the centre I firstly go in with Micro Roasting, but after that one turns out to be too dark for the look I want to achieve, I go over it with Distinct Experience. I apply it with my fingertip, then blending the edges with the brush I used for the dark shades, going back and forth a few times to intensify both the light and dark shades and making sure they blend into each other nicely. The key to achieving a good dark smokey eye is always: taking your time to blend!

I don't want to make it too dark on the lower lash line, so I go back to Tasting Note to tie it in with the upper lid, but making sure I don't take it too far down. In the end I take Cup Of Joy and ever so slightly connect the outer part of the lower lash line with the upper shadows, just to define that lash line a little bit.

I really do think this look deserves a little extra, interesting pop of colour, so I go in with a small precise brush with No Added Spice, the light golden-y green shade. Applied lightly it really leans more towards an antique gold, but packed on and hitting the right angle in the light, it really does give the look a pop of green in the inner corners.
I apply a coat of mascara to make the eye look complete, and finish off the look with Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk lipstick.

LOOK 3

As with the other two looks I start by applying a light layer of Microfoam to set my eyeshadow base. I slightly go into the crease with Nuanced History to define it a little bit before going in with darker colours.

Then I go straight in with Herrengasse, the matte dark khaki shade, into the crease, the outer corners and the lower lash line. I'm not being too specific with the placement of it, but go in with a really fluffy crease brush and a somewhat larger eyeshadow brush for the lower lash line, instead of a really thin, precise one.

To darken up the outer corners some more I go in with a smaller, pointed crease brush into Shine Bright, which (oddly, because of the name...) is the darkest, slightly shimmery green shade.

On the mobile lid, into the inner corner and on the inner part of the lower lash line I go in with the bright green No Added Spice. This is the main attraction of the eye look and so must be very apparent. To blend out the edges of this shade I go in with the fluffy crease brush I used for the matte khaki shade, without adding product, and go over the edges.

To finally brighten up the inner corners some more I add a bit of Distinct Experience. The brow bone I don't necessarily highlight, but I run my highlight brush that I used to highlight my cheekbones and nose quickly along the brow bone area with whatever is left over on the brush, today I used the Charlotte Tilbury filmstar bronze & glow highlighter.

A coat of mascara and finishing the look with the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Creme Lipstick in Bon 'n' Arrow.

I'm so chuffed with this palette and there's still heaps of possibilities with it, to create look that fall somewhere in between the ones I did for this post today.

Which one of these 3 looks is your favourite?
