January Favourites

10:00

Hey everyone!

It's favourites time! Usually I'll have 5 or 6 makeup favourites and that's it, but for this month I have less makeup but more skincare and scents for you. I've been enjoying so many products that came in the Look Fantastic advent calendar and I've truly loved them, so I just had to give those a mention.

This post is not sponsored by Look Fantastic, haha.

Anyways, let's crack on with it.

Stila Magnificent Metals Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows

If you follow me on instagram you will have seen this coming from a mile away but I honestly can't believe it's taken me so long to discover these! I've heard about these for years and when they first came out with more of the "glitter" topper shades, they now have multiple collections of glitters, pigmented eyeshadows and even duo chrome Magnificent Metals. I have four absolutely stunning full-pigment eyeshadows that I can wear on their own: Twig, a beautiful deep brown, Vivid Smoky Quartz, a stunning khaki brown shade, Vivid Amethyst, a bright metallic purple, and finally Vivid Jade, a rich true green. The bright green I've popped out for NYE, but isn't all that wearable, but I was so impressed I thought I might as well pick up some more wearable shades. the purple is actually bright as well but worn on the lower lash line in combination with one of the brown shades on top it is a stunning one. So happy I finally tried these out and I actually scored a few in the sales. They are quite expensive though, as you have to keep in mind a liquid product dries up after a while and I know I won't be able to keep these for years. If that wasn't the case I'd go and buy all of the shades but I just need to be weary of this fact... Maybe in the future :-)

BBB London Ultra Slim Brow Definer - indian chocolate

I've got a few products in this post that come from my Look Fantastic advent calendar 2018, and I was so pleasantly surprised I liked about 90% of the products that were in there! One of my favourites was this brow pencil from BBB London, which is the in-house brand from Blink Brow Bar. the shade could have been a bit lighter, more taupe for me personally, although I can make this darker brown one work if I brush through my brows well enough. It's nothing revolutionary compared to other brow pencils I've loved from Anastasia or Benefit, but it's just a good pencil. A bit creamier than what I'm used to but not too creamy so not too much product comes off at once.

Eyeko Black Magic mascara

Second product from the Look Fantastic advent calendar It's so funny how a mascara can come in a tube, but this one does! I found it very effective to get all the product out and onto the brush, as I just squeezed the last bits on there. It's already used up now as it's only a mini and dried up a bit quicker than a full size would, but I was so impressed. It's not necessarily a waterproof formula but it has all the benefits of it, it stays put all day, keeps a curl and yet is easy to remove in the evening. I loved the shape of the wand as well, which is curved so that it helps for  keeping the curl. Will definitely pick up the full size one day!

Emma Hardie Brilliance Facial Oil

This is only a tiny little version of the full size, but I've been using it loads since I unpacked it from the Look Fantastic advent calendar and it's still going strong. A facial oil is a kind of product that lasts you a long time anyways, but it's so nice to be able to give this a really good go. It's quite hard for me to find a good oil that hydrates my skin without making it more oily than it needs to be, as I have quite oily skin already. This one feels so light and is definitely one I can gladly use without worry. I love it now I've consistently incorporated it into my daily skincare routine and it's definitely up there with my Clarins Huile Lotus and the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate, both of which I think highly of. Definitely thinking of buying the full size!

Omorovicza Moor Cream Cleanser

This ALSO came in the Look Fantastic advent calendar and I was so pleasantly surprised to see a brand like this in there. It's hella expensive and when I saw it was a clay cleanser I was so excited to try it out immediately. I love myself a good clay cleanser as it is so good for my oily skin, really does clean my pores without drying out my skin too much, as a soap cleanser can do, which makes my skin produce even more oils to compensate. This one also has tiny little scrubbing particles in there, but they are very gentle for the skin. I wish I could justify buying this one for myself but I do think I'll stick to the Ren clay cleanser that I use all the time. Still, it's nice to test out stuff like this and maybe one day I'll treat myself to it.

Aromatherapy Assosiates De-stress Muscle bath & shower oil

The last product from the Look Fantastic advent calendar! Phew, I told you there were many products in there I truly ended up loving! This is another product that's already used up, as I've used it as a shower oil rather than a bath oil so you tend to use more product when you rub yourself in it instead of adding a few drops to your bath water. Anyways, I've enjoyed it nonetheless and if I could afford to treat myself to expensive shower things at the moment I would 100% buy the full size of this. It is such a relaxing scent and that was so welcome this month. I'm keeping this one in the back of my mind so that I can someday buy the big bottle. Maybe when I have my own space to live I can buy it for myself as a house warming gift ;-)

Diptyque Amande Exquise scented candle (Ltd. Ed. Christmas)

Onto scents! I've picked up this candle (which took a bloody long time to get here) as I just knew I would love this one! I'm obsessed with everything almond and this one was no exception. It's such a rich and sweet scent so I really only light it for an hour or two and my room smells of it for the entire day. So expensive but it was sort of a christmas treat for myself. I use it very sparingly and I will continue to do so for the entire winter.

Chloé Nomade Eau The Parfum

Finally a perfume! I tried this one out in a sample and was immediately sold on it. I usually find Chloé scents way too floral for my liking, but this one is different from the others. It's still a bit floral but is much deeper, muskier and woodier. I suck at describing scents and I think it's quite impossible to say in words. It's a scent I've never smelled before and thought it was so unique, plus the bottle is so pretty!
