Hi peeps!

In the spirit of spending less money on beauty products I don't need, I thought I would make a full blog post on the topic. It's more so for myself - to remind me of all the things I really don't need to buy this year - than for other people, but as one of my resolutions for this year is to blog for fun, I want to start considering my blog more like a diary again, just like I started out with it. So, here goes nothing. All the products I will try to remind myself NOT TO BUY any time soon.

I do want to do a reflection on this post at the end of the year and see how far I've come. I might do a cheeky update somewhere in the summer, too.

I wanted to do a classic New Year's Resolutions again this year, but in my personal life, I don't have a lot of new goals, apart from the old "I need to exercise more" and "I need to not procrastinate so much" and also maybe "don't get so worked up about work". But that wouldn't make much of an interesting blogpost, now would it?

So, instead I've got a few makeup, skincare and blogging goals for you today.

It's been since 2016 that I've done a total recap of my beauty favourites at the end of the year. I thought since I've stopped doing them monthyl, it would be nice to do a bit of a round up of the entire year.

I used to do them like 1 product per category, but actually I've picked out a few of my favourites from the past favourite posts, then added a few I've discovered in the last two months as well. Some products I've been using for so long they aren't really new so I don't really feel like they fit into this post, I've tried to include products I've only just discovered or that were released in 2019.

This post might be very TL;DR, so I've divided it into categories so you can just read whatever you're interested in. I type what I think and how I would say it. If only I were a YouTuber, I could make a video saying all these things so it would be easier to digest...

As you all may have seen on my instagram ( @charlinehasablog ) I've been to London this past weekend. Obviously I spent all my money, as there's so much in the UK that isn't available in Europe, or at least I can't check out IRL. There were a few things I definitely wanted to swatch - like the Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde palette, and also everything in the Glossier pop-up shop in Covent Garden - so I was bound to pick up quite a few pieces.

Lately I've been massively into the green eyeshadow shades. I've waited so long for them to be a thing again and although it's very hard to come across a palette that just has the true green shades in there, they are becoming a bit more frequent.

I've chosen to do 4 looks with a green shade that defines the look, adding gold glitter in 4 different ways. I was playing around with greens, as my NYE outfit has green tones and obviously, my makeup has to match...

Obviously you can recreate these looks with another shade that suits you better, like dark purple, neutral dark brown, terracotta shades, or even grey/black shades with silver glitters. It's really just about what you prefer.
