Project Pan That Product: update #49

08:00

Hey everyone!

Today I'm sharing another look into my project pan. I've switched to two-monthly updates as the progress that is shown will be more visible (hopefully) and I get the chance to truly start using a product before I go "well this month I barely used it so let's see about next month!", whereas with the two months time I can properly give it some time and see if I like it, then take the product out if I haven't used the product at all. That way I know I should get rid of the product altogether.

Here we go.

Last time the products looked like this.

I did a massive switcheroo in my Project Pan so there's quite a few swaps:

I took out the Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow - Bronze Have More Fun and replaced it with the H&M Infinite Impact Eye Colour - Ginger Snap.

I also finished up the BareMinerals BarePro Performance Wear Liquid Foundation and added in the Fenty Beauty Match Stix - Bamboo.

Next I used up the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Face Sculpt & Highlight and replaced it with the Burberry Light Glow Natural Blush - No. 7 Earthy Blush and also the YSL Stick Highlighter - 1 Light Gold.

I switched out the Too Faced Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer for the Lush Emotional Brilliance Translucent Face Powder.

Lastly I emptied out the Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick - Honey and switched it for the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in 1993.

Today, the products look like this:

H&M Infinite Impact Eye Colour - Ginger Snap

Along with my impulsive decision to do a One Month, One Palette all of a sudden, I've been trying to use this one too. In January I actually managed to combine it with the ABH Soft Glam palette a few times as the colour scheme really suited this shade. Of course it hardly shows that I've used this shadow at all and I don't expect it to show progress any time soon. I just love having it on hand for a quick bit of colour on the lid.

Fenty Beauty Match Stix - Bamboo

I definitely think this worked quite a lot better on me in summer when my skin wasn't so dry. Right now it doesn't have the staying power that it did back in summer and I'm not sure why, but it's really matte and drying. I love using this over my foundation as a way to add a bit more coverage where I need it, but on its own as a foundation it's definitely not enough at the moment. I have used it quite a lot though and I'm keen to finish this one up, sooner rather than later. I believe I've used up about half of what was left in there last time, so I'm excited to see if I can finish it by the next update in two months.

Burberry Light Glow Natural Blush - No. 6 Tangerine Blush

I've been using the peachy blush every single day and I can finally see a bit of progress on the sides of the pan. It's nowhere near hitting pan but that's okay. I love the shade of it and it truly goes with any highlighter I own. I can't believe I haven't used it for so long and only now do I remember how good it actually has been all this time.

Burberry Light Glow Natural Blush - No. 7 Earthy Blush

The contour shade blush is one I can see progress on a lot quicker. I feel like I use more product per use with this one because I contour with it and I need it on more parts of my face, plus I don't use this sparingly at all. The sides are definitely sinking in and I'm quite sure this will be gone a lot sooner than the peachy blush one.

Urban Decay Vice lipstick - 1993 (comfort matte)

I definitely feel like I can see progress on this lipstick, I've tried to use it a lot at the beginning of the year as it combined well with more wintery looks. The nub has definitely shortened and that only means that I'm using it as much as I can. I try to combine it with lipglosses or lighter lipsticks to get a bit more use out of it. I do see that there are little bobbles in there, which is the problem the Jaclyn Hill lipsticks were having, meaning the product is probably going off... I won't be able to wear this for much longer, so we'll see how far I can get before I truly believe it needs to be binned.

YSL Stick Highlighter - 1 Light Gold

I'm glad I can make a bit more use out of this now that I've added it into the project. I must say it's quite light in undertone, which is why I haven't been reaching for it all that much. I had to find a way to make it work for me in the best way possible. I've tried applying it straight to the face then blending out with fingers, also a brush, also applying it to the brush them put it on my face... I think the best way is to apply some on my fingers, then put it on the top of my cheekbones in a patting motion. That way it's quite subtle in undertone, so it doesn't look so light, and it's not too glittery looking either, which it does when you blend it with a brush. It's not a smooth highlighter but more of a glittery one anyways, so I don't want to add to it in any way. I definitely think a highlighter stick like the Benefit Watt's Up is a lot more wearable than this one, but I have found a way to make it work best for me so that I can keep using it and maybe, just maybe, use it up one day.

Lancôme Monsieur Big waterproof mascara

I'm having so much using this mascara, I don't know how everyone makes it work for them. It makes my lashes clump together, which makes them look so spidery! It doesn't look like that on other vloggers and bloggers, I really don't know the trick to do the job. I'm actually glad a friend of mine stated that she had the same issue with it and I was not the only one. I've already switched to a different mascara already, which is so much easier to work with. I'm still on the look out for a good waterproof mascara to try, that gives me separated, fluttery lashes (not spidery ones) let me know if you know of any!

Lush Emotional Brilliance Translucent Face Powder

I actually already finished this one up! Apparently there wasn't so much product left in there after all. I really loved the powder itself, just not so much the packaging. It's quite annoying as you can't see how much is left and you can't really open it to have a look. I would definitely recommend it for the formula though, great for oily skin but it's still a bit glowy. Best of both worlds.

Two out, two new products in:

BareMinerals Lashtopia mascara

I've been using this for a good couple of weeks now, and I enjoy it a lot. Unfortunately it's not waterproof, so it doesn't keep my lashes up all day, but apart from that I enjoy the look it creates. I've bought a 2-pack of this around Christmas and it makes sense for me to try and go through this one first before I open the other one.

Rimmel Stay Matte powder - translucent

My long loved powder is back in my life! I have backups laying around since forever, unopened, and I really want to make sure I use them up before they actually go bad without having used them. I enjoyed it a lot when I hadn't really delved into more high-end powders, and still really dig it. Time to use up my backups, peeps!

Lots of love,
